Death by Sunshine

Beauty is immersed in her face
Like water in a sponge
She shines like a sun
Alone in a dark cosmos.

Her fire draws planets close
There is a warmth they’ve never known
They rotate round her
Wondering how to approach.

Her fire, invisible arms
Holding everyone at bay
Or letting them in
A planet is bound to die today.

And he came too nigh
Shooting like a blind star through dark sky
Smoke, then wind, then nothing
Death by sunshine.
